Hole 5

DunesHole 5

Par 4 | 394 Yards

Players are best served playing their tee shot just inside the large sleepered bunker in the distance avoiding the two deep bunkers to the right. This sets up an uphill approach which will punish and pushed approaches. The recommended play here is take an extra club and play to the left which will feed the ball back onto the green.

Pro's tip

What appears to be a wide landing area for the tee shot has really been tightened up with new bunkers and can more easily be seen from the new elevated tees. For the approach, left is safe, but not too far left or you leave yourself a downhill chip which may run off the severe bank on the right side of the green. Be aware of the pin placement because putting from front to back (or back to front) is difficult with subtle slopes even the members don’t always see!
